Ladder line in a rotor loop?

Any thoughts on ladder line in a rotor loop? Thought is to use ladder
line to feed a rotating dipole and tune it in the shack.

Should work fine, you only have to rotate a dipole 180 degrees so the loop can
be easily managed.

Is it possible? Sure, ought to work just fine. [Gary, make
that 90 degrees for full 360 degree coverage - :)]

On Cebik's page regarding the 44 rotatable dipole, there is a link to
this site. I think this is what you're looking for (about half way
down the page).

Hi Doc, You have 4 quadrants of 90 degrees, and a bi directional 180
degree
antenna. You would have to rotate the antenna 180 degrees to get 360
degree
coverage of the main lobes. If you only rotate 90 then there will be 90
degrees somewhere that will not get the benefit of the main lobe. Am I
wrong?

____________

Just to note that the net pattern of a real dipole near the ground is NOT
its classic, free-space form to begin with, and could vary as it is rotated
as a function of varying environmental effects.

It's probably more important to worry about the mins than the maxes, but no
doubt you won't exactly know in which directions any of them exist, anyway.
