I have been asked on quite a few occasions how to dump my programs to a
printer. There appears not to be a simple way. I have just uploaded to my website a procedure which at least works. It involves actually going via my website and using the "Paint" program which usually comes with Microsoft Windows. There may be other programs which will do the same thing. I am indebted to Jack, G3PVG for the basic procedure. Interested? Go to "Dump Program Results to Printer" in the "Index" section on my website. ---- .................................................. .......... About two eons ago I got tired of trying to "communicate" the outputs I get from my assorted technoid's programs which my e-mail recipients don't have installed on their hard drives. One cannot ship a CAD file, or a Mathcad file or an antenna modeling file to somebody who does not have the corresponding software up and running. Very frustrating. After much thrashing I discovered the solution: Screengrabs via Gadwin. It's freeware which generates .png files which can be opened, viewed and printed in any Winbox running any O/S from 98 forward including XP in all it's sick forms. Gadwin can grab anything and everything you can bring up on your screen and it can be not only viewed, it can also be printed and stored for future use. http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/ Double-click on any .png file and it'll come up on your browser. Including Firefox. As soon as I log off here Reg I'll run one of your gems and e-mail the output screen to you as a demo. w3rv |

Isn't that what PrintScreen does? Copies the screen to the Clipboard? Copies the screen to the Clipboard? Sort of but the screengrab programs take the concept much farther than just Alt-PrintScr which only creates ponderous Windoze .bmps. In the case of Gadwin it will produce not only .bmps, it can also churn out ..jpgs, gifs, tifs and others. The .pngs it creates are amazingly small vs. the rest which matters when tossing image files around by e-mail. The size & area of the capture window can be mouse-defined anywhere on the screen and the view size of the output image can be controlled via adjustable magnification. Gadwin is a nice little piece of freeware but the payware screen grab programs like Snagit take the fine art to much higher levels. In any event I've found that Gadwin is far more useful than the Clipboard routine when it comes to doing chores like capturing, storing, printing and e-mailing screen grabs. -- Bill, W6WRT w3rv |

It does a capture, but I just capture a black screen. Will persevere! Ian. -- |
