Reg, you need to follow the advice given in Proverbs 31:6,7.

Odd that the 500K or so of his own citizens that Saddam tortured
and killed during his regime are never mentioned when it comes
time to bash the USA for putting an end to it.

Lots of assholes in the world. Which one should we attack next? Ah, the
modern Crusades.

Ed, I judge from from your writing you are an intelligent and educated USA
voter.

The only thing which surprises me is how you manage to confuse slander with
facts.

I take only one point from your message -

The ONLY terrorist attacks on the UK have ALL come from the Irish Republican
Army - financed by charitable USA citizens, the CIA, and indirectly by USA
governments regardless of political views.

Who needs enemies with 'special-relationship' friends like that?

USA citizens have no enemies who wish you harm. But you still suffer from
"Reds Under the Bed." which, like WMD, are non-existent.

I assumed that without wine, you had to be in anguish. :-)

So Reg, we are paranoid when it comes to "reds under the bed", but we are
unable to recognize "boyos under the bed"? Mr. Orwell would approve of your
doublespeak.

I don't think Reg would imbibe Dago Red or Thunderbird; absinthe is more his
style.

No Cecil.....
If you're without anguish you can't have any wine.
Unless Reg says so.

PS and requisite antenna post:

Concrete pour for the tower in Monday at 7AM.
Leveled the base with a laser transit.
The yagi is a 4 element SteppIR, it will be at 50 feet on a 70 foot hill.
Finally! After 42 years of ham radio I get my beam-on-a-tower.

Hi OM,

Bond the rebar cage and have a lead to it accessible for an Ufer
ground.

Richard
The tower's a 48' Trylon self-supporting affair.
The base, rebar cage, and additional rebar driven into the hole walls for
positioning are all welded together.
The contractor made damn sure the base will remain plumb during the pour.
I intend to use 3 - 6 additional rods outside the cage attached to the legs
with big cable.
Not familiar with the term "Ufer"?

Hi OM,

Concrete is conductive and with the large surface area presents quite
an electrode - the Ufer ground. Providing for a connection to its
metal interior insures you have access to this characteristic (and
with the rebar welded, insures that there will be no exploding
concrete at the J-Bolts due to current crowding if/when lightning
strikes).

Hi Richard
Lightning and the practicalities (no J-bolts, tower leg extension into the
concrete, holding the damn thing still during the pour) pretty much require
all the metal to be welded together. Then I'll put several good rods around
the base a few feet out.
I've seen lightning strike concrete; blew a 3 foot hole.

Guilty as charged.

Alas dear Reg, I'm afraid you describe yourself here.

I take only one point from your message -

The ONLY terrorist attacks on the UK have ALL come from the Irish

indirectly by USA governments regardless of political views.

I would be very surprised if the Islamic terrorists have not managed even
one small attack in the UK; but if that's true, your police, military and
intelligence services must be doing an excellent job.

But your IRA problems are because of the CIA??? And their motivation
would be WHAT???

Good grief Reg! Is there ANY anti-US lie that is too absurd and stupid
for you to believe? Try this one: All your missing persons have been
abducted by alien flying saucers, under contract with the CIA. (You have
now seen it on the Net, so it must be true!)

Who needs enemies with 'special-relationship' friends like that?

I think our "special relationship" is real, but applies primarily to
(sane) people of good will, in both countries--not the crazies.

USA citizens have no enemies who wish you harm.

This pearl is right up there with your CIA sponsorship of the IRA.

You GOTTA get those toxics out of your system. When you do, read up
on an outfit popularly known as Al Qaeda.

But you still suffer from
"Reds Under the Bed." which, like WMD, are non-existent.

No Reds under my bed, just storage boxes and dust bunnies.

It's good to know that WMD are non-existent, though. Maybe this
explains why you are the only one that thinks we're using them.

Sorry to piggy-back on your post, but apparently, there *WERE* "reds
under the bed. I would direct your attention to "Mask of Treachery"
by John Costello. In it is detailed the penetration of MI-5 and MI-6
by the Cambridge gang of traitors. There is enough information in
there to demonstrate that James Angelton was right, there was a
considerable amount of KGB and GRU penetration of the CIA and the US
Department of State. One of FDR's personal assistants was probably a
KGB or GRU spy. Another good book is "Operation Solo" by John Barron.
It details the life of a top CPUSA operative named Morris Childs who
was an FBI spy. The Soviets funneled (documented) millions of dollars
into the CPUSA.
