Google Groups

I presently cannot access my subscribed usenet server so I logged on to
Google Groups. What a surprise. They have updated their usenet function
to reduce the posting delay from hours to minutes, i.e. make newsgroup
access fully functional.

Thanks for that info Cecil. I find Cox Communications often loses newsgroup
connections and is very slow at other times. I'll look into Google as an
option.

Fully functional, EXCEPT for making the default reply button not quote the
text of the previous post! If Google is used on a busy group it can get
very difficult to figure out what is actually being replied to. It gets
annoying to have to go and read other posts in the tree just to
figure the thread out.

Apparently there is a way of replying that quotes the previous text, but
this involves clicking on a few buttons to do it.
