Antenna lengths (apart)

How far apart should a roof mounted 440 and a 2 meter be from each
other?

Three to Six feet from closest tips. Further is better, but not often
necessary. This depends on if they remain in tune, or if you can
re-obtain a tune.

A "roof mounted 440 and a 2 meter" WHAT?

Antennas I suppose -- but the volume of OT posts here does not
preclude something else.

What kind of antennas? Vertical, horizontal, loop, yagi,
co-linear, fixed, rotated, common-mast, side-by-side, one
above the other?

The better questions _always_ get the better answers.

Separate transmitters? How much power? The answer is different for
two 500w repeaters than it is for a dual-band 5w HT.

This is for a dual mode radio with two antenna outputs. (ALinco dr 590)
I am thinking of using a yagi for 440 and some type of omnidirectional
for 2 meters like a 1/4 ground plane.
