I lived for 38 years within 100 meters of three sets of high tension
lines on the NE power grid. 68KV to 105 KV is the range of voltages.

1) There is no credible scientific data to confirm any effects from low
freq magnetic field. Right now you are standing in a 0.5 gauss field.

2) When I sold my house it went for 20K more than the agents appraised
value.

3) The lines were 'quiet' for almost 100% of the time. I suspect that I
had 'line noise' for less than 3 weeks out of 38 years. The noise was
quickly removed by New ENGLAND ELECTRIC with days of it occurrence.

Hello,

I am a ham looking for a home. I found one that interests me, except
that it is about 600 feet from high tension lines. I am trying to
determine whether I should be concerned about this. There are three
potential issues that I can think of:

1.) Possible excessive exposure to low-frequency magnetic fields.

2.) Even if there is no significant exposure, the resale value of the
property may be affected if other buyers are concerned if/when I turn
around to sell it.

3.) Radio noise. I would imagine that any arcing along the system
would wreak havoc on my enjoyment of weak-signal dx.

Any and all comments appreciated.
