ATAS-100 problems with tuning all bands

I just got an ATAS 100 for my FT100D. Without getting the thing
properly grounded (another thread...), I am only able to tune to 10
meters using the autotuing function. Does anyone know if grounding
will make it possible to tune the other bands?

thanks

What antenna are you using? Are you trying to use a mobile whip
at home? Hope you have radials, or some sort of ground *under* the
antenna. Thats where the ground would need to be, if thats what
you are trying to feed. MK

Is this the little mobile whip antenna Yaesu makes for 40 thru 2
meters? It needs a ground -- the kind you'd have, attached to a car.
Otherwise, in your apartment, you might try attaching some 1/4 wave
radials to the grounding point for the device, for each band you want
to work. Without a ground, half the antenna system is missing.

i have the same antenna and rig, if your using it on a car as entended
, try adding a ground wire from antenna mount base to car chassis
w/good wire and also ground radio it's fickle about grounds

if your using it off a car i find you need at least 3 radials before
it will tune and be happy but each area is different perhaps you need
more

good luck
