Need PolarPlot v1.6

Hello, can somebody send me PolarPlot v1.6, not the latest v2.0 on my mail.
Many antenna need to be tested in the field, HI.

Thanks,

Another program which you wish to consider for field applications is
AntennaPlot by VE3SQB from Degen Designs. We initially designed this
software for our own use, however feel that this is a valuable for both
amateurs and professionals alike.

This program works together with a A/D converter and produces accurate
results.

As this program is on selected release during initial offerings, it is best
to contact us directly at for information and a copy.

Thanks for offer, will consider your idea, already found on the web Antenna
Plot, looks professional, only problem is AD-DA converter (25USD) if we are
talking about the same.
If Polar plot measurements are true like they said, then much easier is to
use just a sound card.
Seems, today not so many people use this kind of software to check the real
diagram and the gain of the antenna.
Thanks again for the replay

The Dataq A/D converter is what we use, however, you are not limited to
this.

Additionally, the main reason we designed our own software is that we felt
the signal feed through the speaker, does not accurately reflect the actual
performance as volume, AGC and radio signal processing does cause some
variation.

Though, I must say Polar Plot was one of our initial considerations.

Thanks for the reply,

Hello again,

The problem with AD converter is "solved" in PolarPlot with solution, not to
use AGC, and if possible to use an constant level of audio from the radio,
on modern radios this can be paket and data jack, on ft-847 i have 2
possibilities to pick up the constant signal, normally which can not be
compared with AD converter.

Thanks, Adam

In defence of Bob Freath G4HFQ who wrote the Polar plot program.Peter
Dodd,G3LDO
wrote in RADCOM November '02 issue " The volume of the beat note, in
the SSB or CW mode of a plain unmodulated carrier has good correlation
with the RF input level, provided the receiver is operated in a linear
manner"
Some may well remember the article written by Peter in one of the
early
ARRL compendiums where he described the use of a computor with a A/D
converter
but without the goodies as supplied on
WWW.bob.freeth.dial.pipex.com/polarplot
I'll be very interested in this new program from Canada to see if they
can supply equal goodies when creating polar plots as an advance over
what Peter
wrote about in those early days.

Art

Bob October 19th 03 05:13 PM

I have serious reservations about someone asking openly for a specific
version of PolarPlot on this newsgroup without coming direct to me, which is
very simply done from my web site.

Very odd indeed, especially when the upgrade to V2 is free for licensed
users.
