Yaesu G-450XL Controller box
 

I need some ideas on how to fix the problem with the G-450XL controller
box.
I bought the controller box and the rotor from Ebay...it clearly stated
that it had a problem with the controller so I bought it As Is thinking
I could fix myself...here is the situation:

The left paddle (CCW), moves the needle counterclockwise but 1) not in
accordance with the movement of the rotor. It goes very....very slow
and when I stop pressing it it continues moving at the same pace
(slooow) at this point the rotor has stop rotating. The Right paddle
moves the needle along the pace of the rotor, just fine. Another
problem is that the alert light remains on all the time.

Any ideas?
