Default Local Oscillator: Frequency Choosing

Hello All

I am thinking of some basic question about LO and I cant figure it out
I need your help to give me some explanation so I can further
investigate my text book.

Say there are 3 signals [frequency at wo-k, wo, wo+k]going into the
input of a LO. Then due to the nonlinearity of LO, we get
Intermodulation harmonics terms. If wo is the desired frequency while
the other two are interferers, my question is at which frequency Local
Oscillator will tune at?

For any theoritical and practical purposes, what is the method to find
the oscillator frequency and/or period?

Maybe this question sounds too general. Therefore, if you have any
further details to complement this question and doubts, kindly share
your views.
Thank you

rgds and thanks
Jason
