Radio Problem

have an Alinco DR590. I replaced the battery in it. I can turn it off
and back on and it stays on the channel I left it on. If I turn it off
and leave it off for an hour or so it always goes back to 145.000 and
445.000.

It is constantly hooked up to my 12 volt battery.

What could htis be?

Caveat Lector February 22nd 05 07:40 PM

Maybe the internal "memory" battery. Not easy to get at with the small parts
involved.
Might have to go back to Alinco for a replacement

He has been told this at least a dozen times in former posts..... in at
least half a dozen news groups. He was given some very explicit directions
on what to do. Failing that, he needs to send it to Alinco, since it seems
all help has fallen on deaf ears or blind eyes. There is nothing wrong with
asking for help, but this has reached the point of trolling.

I replaced the internal memory battery.

stryped,
Then I would think the logical questions to ask are;
Was the replacement battery any good?
How long ago was this replacement done?
Was the battery replaced correctly?

If the answers are that the battery really was good, and it hasn't
been an unreasonable period of time since replacement, and if the
battery was replaced correctly, then it would seem that there is
something else wrong. If you can't find the problem, send it back
to the manufacturor, let them find it.
