AEA CIA/VIA antenna analyzer modification help please

Hello!

The AEA CIA/VIA antenna anylyzer gives an extremely low output signal
and I have heard that it is possible to slightly increase this output
by reducing the value of a resistor. I do not have the schematic so I
wondered if anyone else has done this modification and if so would
help me to do it.

Best wishes

Dear Andrew:
Your message has languished for a while.
Why would one wish to perform the suggested mutilation? The instrument
works fine just as it is.
Among the available instruments for measuring antenna and transmission
line impedances that are not a long way from 50 ohms, I have found the CIA
to be the most useful.

Hello Mac!

Thanks for the response.
The CIA has one problem which is that it is very sensitive to ANY RF
in the vicinity and I have so much going on in the shack that it
simply does not function there. I have to go out to the antenna
switching system at the bottom of the tower (very cold) to measure
antennas. I had heard that there is a simple modification which
increases the output to overcome this problem, and it also improves
the accuracy.

So if anyone has a schematic or could tell me which resistor needs
reducing in value I would be happy - and warmer too!

Andrew
