Trying to Locate Push Up Mast Brackets
 

I am going to install a 30' push up mast to the side of my home with 2
brackets but I am not able to locate any house brackets large enough for
the 2" and 1 1/2" pipe. Most that I have seen are very flimsy and will
only take the normal TV mast. Any ideas on where to purchase the
brackets?

By the way the mast is going to support a 40 meter dipole and a TGM
Hybrid Quad with 1.6 sq. feet of wind load.

Hi Ron,

I understand the problem. You may have to fabricate
something if you really want to mount the mast to the wall
rather than to the roof. I'm not aware of wall mounts that
are large enough and beefy enough for what you want to do.
Doesn't mean there aren't any, of course; I've just never
seen one. As you pointed out, the RS 12" wall mount, which I
also have but am not currently using, will take only a
1-1/4" mast.

Don't know what kind of roof you have... I'm currently using
a push-up mast on top of my flat roof with a Radio Shack
tripod mount extended to 15 ft height to support my rotator
and 6M beam. This tripod mount will take a 1-3/4" mast, but
not a 2", which is why I had to use the 1-3/4" and 1-1/2"
segments of the push-up mast. It's guyed four ways with
nylon line just below the rotator level.

The tripod is secured to three rather heavy concrete decking
foundations (available at Home Depot or Lowe's) that I
equipped with masonry anchors and hauled up to the roof one
at a time. (Oof!) This seems to be a very stable system, and
it obviated drilling holes in the roofing, something you
ESPECIALLY want to avoid with a flat roof like we typically
have in NM.

Ron,
I bought a set from Fleeman, Anderson, and BI..... in Florida last year.
I found them using Google. Unfortunately I only have the characters of their
name
that would fit in a Quicken line. They cost ~$17.50 shipped.

They sell heavy duty stuff for antennas.

Bunch of other entries, too.

I had good luck a couple of years ago using the Radio Shack 12" wall
mounts. While they are rated for only 1-1/4" pipe, they can take
bigger.

Hi Ron

I just ran down to my local Welding/Blacksmith shop with the distance
I needed from the mounting point to the inside edge of the mast.
They had the band iron in stock and fabricated one for me for $35.00
which included a dip in vinyl to keep it from rusting and all the
needed bolts and washers in stainless.
I had a 50 footer!
