I have been using SWR meters all my life to check on reflected power from the antenna. This simple act has worked very very well for me through the years. I did this in my younger days professionaly for Raytheon. When I had tuned the antenna tuner or the antenna itself for a 1:1 match, suddenly I have a system that talks a long way.
