Barry Mishkind seems to be a Gates Radio fan. He has web pages devoted
to the company. He says Gates was sold to Harris in 1957. Barry also
says that reportedly Parker Gates died 9/16/86 at home in Quincy, IL.

A search on Gates Radio produces much information. If Gated should not
