Ranger 1 mods?

I am in the process of doing mods on my Ranger 1. I have studied
everything that I can find online from WA1HLR, WA1HZK, W3AM, AD5X,
W8JI (All have excellent info). All of them with the exception of W8JI
seem to have some version of the WA1HLR mods. I am in the process of
changing all the electrolytic and paper caps. Also increasing the
voltage ratings. Solid stating the power supplies, adding the keying
relays. I am regulating the LV PS with the 2 0D3/VR-150 gas tubes as
in the WA1HZK mods. I am doing the minimum modulator mods, removing
one cap and increasing the value of another. (I realize there are many
opinions about all this)
One item I am not 100% clear on at this time ( I may have more later)
is the screen voltage for the modulator tubes. After I remove the 50
Watt adjustable resistor, do I connect the modulator screens direct to
the +300 VDC LV supply? The modulator idle current is then adjusted
with the new bias supply? If I regulate the LV supply at 300 v, will
this be enough for the screens? Has anyone made a complete Ranger
schematic showing all the mods? Any info on this will be most
appreciated. Randy, WB5KCM
