Sluggish TX on FT-726R 2 meters
 

My vintage VHF rig is acting up after almost 30 years
of service. The 2-meter module is slow to produce
RF output when keyed. I suspect a sluggish oscillator.
The relays have been cleaned. Once it starts running,
the TX cycles are good, until the radio is left unused
for a period. Has anyone seen this before? Solutions?
I had it apart on the bench but could I was never
quick enough to catch the fault.

Caught it in the act with the PA apart. It was the PA antenna
relay not pulling in at all times. Cleaned the relay, and
resoldered a few joints, no working as intended.
