Are any of the BC-221 Frequency Meters of any interest to collectors? I
have a BC-221-O which I no longer use and I'm trying to determine if I
should just put it in the trash. Thanks!

They are not worth much in terms of dollars - but collectors like them. If
I see them at a swap meet for under $10 and they are in good shape, I often
buy them - simply to keep them from being trashed.

I have converted one into a solid state heterodyne vfo for a Central
Electronics 10B and converted one into a very nice regenerative receiver.
It has a good range of parts for the regen, including a very high impedance
audio choke and a wonderful tuning assembly.

They are still light enough to ship at a reasonable price. Do not be too
greedy on price and you should fine a happy home for it.

Unless you get an offer of big bux I will give it a good
home. They are actually still useful.

That precision tuning capacitor was highly esteemed. Some years ago, a
small company was buying old LM and BC-221 sets just to salvage them for
a product they were manufacturing. Of course, the technology has
changed since them, and PLL frequency control reigns.
