My bitchy comment about this is based on the first two sentences of the
description......

"Here is a Johnson Viking II transmitter in very good cosmetic condition.
I do not have the manual and it has been untested."

It is NOT in "very good cosmetic condition." At best it is fair condition.

Not having the manual is no excuse for not testing it; all the knobs are
very clearly marked as to their function. Anyone who has learned (as
contrasted to memorizing) anything in preparation for a ham license should
have been able to load it up on a D.L., light bulb, or antenna, safely.

Be very cautious about bidding much on listings like this.

Not only that, but he has the nerve to offer the manual separately in
another posting. The condition as displayed as very poor cosmetic
condition, with rust and a great many scratches clearly showing. So far,
he's demonstrated that he misrepresents the condition of the equipment AND
about having the manual. I wouldn't trust this seller in any way.

If all that rust is what you call very good condition, I would hate to
think what not so good condition might be.

My bitchy comment is that its so sad to see guys fight tooth over nail and
pay inflated prices in auction environments (where shill bidding is easy
to organize), and then you end up with a PoC when its all over. Some of
the prices I've seen stuff end up at is outrageous.

Go to hamfests, many and big ones, and look at the stuff, feel the
switches, take screwdriver and if they guy won't let you look under the
chassis then walk away.
