Bob, Nye Viking was originally run out of Washington but when the son took over about 1996 he moved Nye to Idaho. Nye Viking bought the Viking name from EF Johnson. He only built the speed key and the tuners. The Nye Viking tuners were not the Viking 250 or KW tuners but an entirely new set of tuners. There is a review in QST back in 1992 by Jim Cain. The Nye tuner is not very good for 160. Please read the article though. Dave K4JRB Hi Dave; I have seen the very first Nye Viking tuners, it was built exactly like the Johnson KW tuner, same size, knobs in the same place, the color was different though, etc. I never looked inside. So wat are talking about, where can I read this, online? I am going to check around! The newer ones like the MB series were completely new designs. 73... Rich |

Rich,
I did not know Nye made the exact duplicate of the KW matchbox. I am betting he bought out the remaining stock and relabeled them. I saw a write up on Nye somewhere but cannot remember where. Jim Cain K1TN might have the info as he wrote the QST review in 1992. 73 Dave K4JRB "Richie" wrote in message ...
