Needed: S-Meter for Star SR-600 receiver
Hi All;
Neat receiver but the meter is bad, seems common for these radios. I understand that meter for the Yaesu FLDX-400 fits but face place needs to be exchanged. Any ideas? 73...... Rich |

So far I have only cleaned up the chassis, removed tubes & cleaned sockets, switches & pots. I was surprised that the more I did, the better it played. The meter is bad but with only a 10' piece of wire & can here stuff on the poor bands that we have at present. At first, audio was a bit garbled but that seems to have worked in, maybe most of caps finally charged up:-) My first impressions is the 1KC readout is nice/better then the 2B but I think the 2B is better, how much, dunno yet? I know it is not as good as my Drake 1A. I bet if it was completely restored electronically, it would be a nice receiver. I don't have that skill though. Try doing a search, a few JA's have pics or thier restored SR-600. 73...... Rich |
