Practical Wireless Info wanted

Hi Guys this is a real longshot, I'm looking for an article that was
in a Practical Wireless Mag about mid/early 1950's It was on a two
valve transmitter, it was unusual as the chassis and front panel were
made of hardboard!! I owe a lot to that article and would like to
build it, I kept that PW for years but it finally got lost in one of
my many moves, I would really appreciate a scan of it if it could be
found, cheers from Ron g3yuh...

ron,

Sorry I can not help you out on the article and not knowing exactly why you
want the article, but perhaps an old ARRL Amateur Radio Handbook of
appropriate year, may get you close.

I don't know the library setup in the UK but here I
would look for the magazine in a library's periodical
holdings. If you can find the issue you can get a Xerox of
the article you want. If you can't find that particular
periodical I am pretty sure you can find similar elementary
transmittes described in other magazines or books aimed at
amateurs or experimenters.

But libraries tend to be more about books that are used, than
an archive. Even if they carried the magazine way back then,
chances are good they are long gone. They need the space for
more recent things.

A radio club is more likely to keep that sort of thing. Maybe
even specifically the RSGB.

Ron,

If you contact the editor, Ron Mannion G3XFD, he may well have the
edition and be willing to supply a copy. His email address is rob at

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the suggestions, seems odd that there is no old PW
listing
as it is/was a very popular magazine, the PW was taken over a few
years
back and any enquiries I've made in the past to the new owners usually
only relate back to the take over year, but it may be worth another
try
perhaps they may have some more info now.
cheers from Ron g3yuh...
