HP-23 - Anybody have a top and bottom cover?

I have an HP-24 that is missing the top and bottom cover. I'd feel
better if I can box away all that. I've found that the cover is the
same as the HP-23 supply.

Before I call in my favor due from a machinist friend, does somebody
have a wreck/parted out supply that would be willing to part with the
covers?

Thanks!

If you mean the HP-24 calculator, parts are available from International
Calculator in Florida.

Well no. A calculator would never be classified as a radio boatanchor.

Plus I don't think people working in plastic are called "machinists".
Clearly that's a reference to metal work, and if we're talking Hewlett
Packard pocket calculators, the casing was plastic.

No, surely he means the Heathkit power supply. Was quite popular,
to power Heath equipment, but also I seem to recall people using
it to power other ham transceivers.

Using a shear and brake you could make both the top and bottom cover in
about 15 minutes. As a matter of fact, a jig saw and a vice would be able
to make one quickly. A good scrounger should have a few sheets of scrap
perforated material around. You do not even need to weld the corners of the
top - just a few short pieces of angle aluminum with pop rivets.

Save the debt owed by your machinest friend for something more difficult.

HEATHKIT HP-23 Power Supply - Bottom Cover Wanted

Got a top cover in very nice shape - thanks!

Anybody got a bottom cover?

Also, why? I really like having all-original exterior parts. Just a
crazy thing with me.

I never had a top or bottom cover with mine. It was mounted in the station
speaker. This is where most of them were. The speaker was a very
worthwhile addition to my SB102.

If you wanted to keep the speaker and e-bay the power supply, I could surely
understand that. No one seems to make good station speakers any more.

HEATHKIT HP-23 Power Supply - Bottom Cover Wanted

My HP-24 supply is for my HA-14 SSB linear amplifier. Cool little
thing, it's a simplified SB-200 with a separated power supply.
They managed to fit the transformer and caps onto the same chassis as
the HP-23 transceiver supply.

I originally did get it in a speaker case, but, I traded it away for
something else...
