6146 VS 6293

Does anyone have any wisdom on substituting 6293's for 6146's? In this case
it's in the Kenwood Twins 599D.
Any downside- neutralization etc?
Tnx,

Dale W4OP

No help at all here
Some years back, maybe 1962-1963 I substituted 6293's for 6146's, and
if I recall, the desired effect was it achieve higher plate current peaks in
class C, AM modulated service. Homebrew rig was attempting to use negative
peak clipping.......... remember when? I thought it worked quite well, but
never did have the resources to try the same circuits with 6146's. Those
were the days where anything worked with spectacular results on 10 or 15
meters. Europe, Asia, Orient, South Pacific were all easy ones at their time
of the day!!
