restoring an SP-600
Hello,
as a winter project I'm restoring an SP-600, just finished the mechanical part I'm working on the electronics. I wonder if anybody in BAland has tested the BFO waveform and say if I'm right or not. Checking the point between C132 and L46 the waveform appear ugly and distorted, only .5 Vpp. Everything is correctly wired and components are good, as witness, the grid of V13 shows a magnificient 8 Vpp signal. Can you help me? 73's de Claudio |

The result was a much cleaner beat-note. --Ed |

hi
As I had the same pb Iwrite again onthis.Sorry as nobody can give a real explanation and remedy! All I read here on this pb is of no help.BFO sorry has nothing to do with AVC MAN or AUTO. I suspect the choke L46.I try another, but was to great and an BFO enter in auto-osc. So I d to find the good one, that s difficult as chokes can hardly be mesured: If I find the right I will tell it here. But why this pb occurs suddently??? |
[Hi
I forget to trll that I first suspect the cavle to V12,I changed it no effevt. So i disable it no effect. Now I m sure the trouble is only in the BFO can.As the C and L seems realy good,I suspect the choke who isolate the signal from ground. Is someone able to explain precisely tjis suddent pb? |
