WJ 8617B not saving settings when powered OFF
My WJ 8618B will save all settings....freq, BW, etc when power is turned OFF
and then back ON again. I also have a WJ 8617A that does not save the settings. When it is turned OFF and then ON again the settings return to 20mhz AM setting. Can I get this radio to retain stored settings when powered OFF and then back ON again? Thx |

I already am a member of Premium RX, but tnx for the reply. I figured the
radio had a backup battery, but couldn't find it. Found my answer on Premium RX....installed missing battery and now all OK "Edward Knobloch" wrote in message ... olfart wrote: My WJ 8618B will save all settings....freq, BW, etc when power is turned OFF and then back ON again. Look at both radios and see if you can find a small battery (similar to those on a PC's motherboard for instance). If so the one in the 8617A is dead. A large capacitor could also hold enough juice for a few days of memory, but this is less likely than a battery. If the 8617A has no battery and the 8618B does, perhaps you could copy the battery connections into the 8617A. -- Rich Greenberg N Ft Myers, FL, USA richgr atsign panix.com + 1 239 543 1353 Eastern time.
