Thanks,

TS-520 Refit

Picked up a TS-520 from Craigslist for $100. My first rig with bottles!

This thread will serve as a bit of work log / photo gallery (when i can get
over to take pics) / diary of a tube noob trying to not get shocked.

Initial assessment:

RX seems okay.

The meter is 100% dead in all switch positions. As a result I cant ballpark
sensitivity or see HV or current. Lights all out (trivial)

Not seeing a glow in the tube box when I turn heater on, not really feeling
heat (the fan does work) out...

Hallicrafters SR-2000 Heterodyne issue

Good evening Folks,

Try to keep this short. Been working on this for a year and have gotten to
this point.

I have good crystal activity, diode switching is good. Acts like the
output of the heterodyne is being dragged down.

I know there is a lot of experience on this site and would appreciate it
much for any advice.

BTW, this is my favorite rig.

Thanks,

Neat find today, radio from a B-17

I came across this cool radio today and brought it home! Neat piece of
history. Not sure what Im going to do with it.. but its pretty cool.
Apparently the receivers were once sold as surplus, converted for A/C power
and amateur radio use so its difficult to find one which hasnt been hacked
and missing the dynamotor. Transmitter and receiver look original.
