Icom R7000 1GHz issues
 

I tune to local FM station for example 98.5 MHz, press 1GHz button
which should turn that into 1098.5 MHz, but i still hear local FM
station, just a little bit weaker (for 20 or more units). It appears
lot of users have this problem. Did anyone found solution to this
problem ?

It must be something with the filter, like it is not fully applied, or
maybe not applied. Did anyone managed to fix it?

The R7000 simply switches a 1-2GHz converter into the front of the
receiver, so it isn't rocket science finding your way round it.

I am aware of that. That is why i'm thinking that this is a bigger problem.
You see, if relay is not switching antenna properly then there would be no
change if i turn 1GHz switch on or off. However, when i turn it on, i hear
the FM station about -30dB weaker. That's what is puzzling me. Otherwise,
the problem would be clear and i would know i just need to replace relay.

By the way, where can i download schematics of R-7000 ?

Are we perhaps trying to fix something that isn't broken? Maybe make an
FM band trap and put it inline?

I am not too sure about that. Because i've been talking with man who also
have R-7000, and i gave him instructions what to do, to test this 1GHz
"feature" that my unit has. He tried exaclty the same settings and didn't
had any problems with 1GHz performance. To be 100% sure i even told him to
tune to local FM station that is near his location. Again, no problems at
all on his unit.
