AN/ARC-38 ( Collins 618-S1? )
Can anyone help me locate the schematics or, failing that, the a description
of the tube compliment for the AN/ARC-38 ( Collins 618-S1 ? ) HF Transceiver. I have searched the net for several hours and can't seem to find anything concrete. Thank you in advance, B-T |

I have searched the net for several hours and can't seem to find anything concrete. If you have a 618S-1, the manual for an ARC-38 won't be much help. The 618S-1 was crystal controlled (using a motorized switch for remote control), and the ARC-38 used a "stabilized master oscillator", a much more complicated unit. I believe they both had 3 parallel 6159's in the final, modulated by a pair of 6159's. (the 6159 is a 24V heater version of a 6146). 73, Ed |
