Help with NC-183 D
I have a NC 183D that has a couple of disconnected components also seems to
have a mod where the 6J5 used to be was modded to take a 8SN7 ??? Has anyone heard about this mod? Will appreciate any help or input, I can even email digital pictures of the underside if that would help. Thanks in advance....Gil -- Please Remove NOSPAM to reply |
Just a guess, but might it be a product detector?

Could be wired ot work as a product detector with BFO injection, or AM detector without. Ed Engelken did a similar mod to an S40. Pete |

Which is actually two 6J5s in one glass octal envelope. Has anyone heard about this mod? Will appreciate any help or input, I can even email digital pictures of the underside if that would help. Never heard of any mods like that but it could be a product detector. Another possibility is that a former owner had a 6SN7 but no 6J5s and rewired the tube socket to use one side of the 6SN7 73 de Jim, N2EY |
