Default Military AM 864/U

In the scrap yard I frequent there is a military surplus AM 864/U amplifier.

This looks like the speech amplifier that went with the BC 610.
I don't have any idea what it was used for.

Anyone need this to complete their collection of whatever.
I hate to see it melted down for the metal if someone needs/wants it.
