WTB: Parts rcvr w/455 IF & Prod detector
 
Trying to build a cheap SSB adapter for my R-390A. Want to buy a
receiver with 455 Khz if and switchable sideband product detector at
455. Only IF, Product detector and audio stages need to be working.
Not concerned if any cabinet, knobs, other stages, meters, etc etc are
even present. E-mail description of what you have and price to:

I think it wouldn't be too hard to do something like this with one of
the Toko IF coils from Digi-Key, and one of the synchronous detector
chips sold for TV color carrier detection. Somebody has to have something
like that as a magazine product.

If you want to go tubes, I think the sheet beam tube is the way to go.
