Hi Garry, according to Vacuumtubes.com, the 6293 is a:

High current pulse rated 6146. Will handle 3 AMPS of plate current in
short pulses! This is an "electrically ruggedized" 6146. All other
specs are the same.

It gets this from having a heavy plate that can store a lot of heat in
it, so that it can deal with very high heat generation for a short period
of time.

If you're operating anything other than pulse service, it's basically
equivalent to the 6146, although I suspect it's probably worth more money
if you can find someone out there who is running something using it in
pulse mode. I know these were used for modulating some magnetrons for radar
service.
