I had an SX-99 about 32 years ago. That's an S-85 with crystal filter and
S-meter. Or is an S-85 an SX-99 wothout the S-meter and crystal filter?

Looks nice as compared to the earlier S-40 series which it replaced. The
only problem is that it was no more stable than the S-40B on 15 and trying
to tune in CW signals you used much of that 1800 degrees of bandspread
touted by Hallicrafters.
