Hello all,
After recapping and aligning both my 28A and my 42, I did a side by

side
comparison. Is it my imagination or is the 28A more sensitive on the
frequencies that rcvrs both cover? 73Mike KF6KXG

Are the antenna impedances the same between the two radios? The older
SX 28A might better match your antenna.

Thanks to those who responded to my 42 vs 28A post. Frank, I am just using a
random length wire antenna, but you raised an interesting point about the
antenna possibly being a better match for one than the other. I will go back to
the manuals and give it some thought. 73 Mike KF6KXG

Makes sense. It's my impression most pre-war designs used a higher
impedance antenna input which would work better with an end fed random
wire.
