It sounds like the book by Henry W. Ott, entitled "Noise Reduction
Techniques in Electronic System", 2nd edition.
The publisher is John Wiley & Sone, Inc, and the ISBN is 0-471-85068-3.
Two years ago, the price of this book was $89.50. I am not sure if this is
the book you are referring to, but it is a good book!
