QST no index?

What year did QST stop providing an index for that years volume in the
December issue? I just realized this the other day while searching
for a article I read sometime back.

Apparently December 2001. Perhaps no one noticed. Have you checked at the
ARRL website?

Ed, N5EI

They have always been there..If you are looking for something from a past
QST, go to their website and search in their cumulative index.

Clint, It is more likely a question of cost. Perhaps you have noticed that
there are fewer advertisers and the cost of color production and mailing
have not gone down. If they don't get complaints, then they won't publish
the index.

Probably because there has been little of interest in the magazine
for at least 20, 30 years.

That's baloney.
Their membership is near an all time high with a couple hundred
thousand readers of QST. They may well have picked up even more
readership after the demise of Ham Radio and 73 magazines.

As another poster said, magazine space is costly.
They did mention something about the index at a board of directors
meeting held several years ago. They've tried to tailer page content
for maximum interest considering the costs involved.

After the latest ARRL proposal the late great rag known as QST will be
turned into the best CB rag in the world. Remove all restrictions on
operators and let them have at it. Roger beep sales will soar again
along with sweep tube amps. Hey ARRL, got your ears on?

What is baloney is the technical content of the magazine is Zilch.
We are talking about the quality of the magazine, how does that
equate to membership numbers? Besides, Ham Radio was
ten times the magazine QST every was. Even 73 in it's early days.

Who can afford sweep tubes?
Those things are more expensive than real tubes.
