I need to build an AC supply for a 221 I've just acquired - for some
odd reason I can't find the batteries at the corner store :(.

Anybody know if one of those isolation xformers used for washroom
razor outlets will handle the load?

Any on-line designs that you're aware of?

Thanks,

Howard.

All you need is 6.3 vac @ 900 ma and 135v dc @ about 10 ma or so. I
think a Stancor PA8421 xfmr will do the job nicely, and I'd add an
OD3/OA2 as well to regulate the B+ voltage for better stability.

Any good handbook would have a simple power supply design easily used.

The Surplus Radio Conversion Manual Volume 1 has a major article on
the BC221, and volume 3 has one on the similar Navy LM freq meter, and
these have AC power supplies included.
