what is really good to use when cleaning switches and cases from nicotine
and such.for wood cases and metal?
plastic bezels?

Different things are needed, depending on the material (first, do no harm).
Among the things I have found best for a particular "de-spooging" task a

o The dishwasher
o Soap and water and a brush
o Febreeze
o Sunlight and fresh air
o Lacquer thinner
o Denatured alcohol
o WD-40
o De-Oxit
o Break Free
o Pledge
o Linseed oil
o Glade

I just use sudsy ammonia water (from the grocery store). Nicotine just
flows off and it doesn't seem to hurt anything else.
