Even when new, the SX100 was so mechanically unstable you couldn't
use a key on the same table with the receiver. SSB was difficult. No
such thing as an excellent SX100.



You mean to say YOU never had a good one. I use one nightly (Mark
I version no less), with the .5 kC filter setting and pound brass into the
night. Solid as a rock. Same on SSB. Never had an ounce of 'instability'
with it. You must have had a crappy one or three...
