Eddystone 898 DIAL BACKLASH

Hi,
Anyone on the group have experience with eliminating backlash in this slide
rule dial? It is not severe, but does make tuning SSB a tad more difficult
than it should be. Almost impossible to see visually because of the 110:1
ratio.I would have expected to see the main gears spring loaded against each
other- but do not see this on casual inspection.
