cer73c cer70a diodes in a HX50 transmitter
 

I am rebuilding a Hammarlund HX-50 transmitter and need to replace some
diodes. CER73C & CER70A are the part numbers on the schematic. I can
probably pick parts that would work, but I would like to know if these
numbers are industry standard numbers and if data sheets exist.

I know they are industry standard numbers, and I have drawers
full of them in the cellar someplace. If you do a Google search
you can probably find the original specs.

NTE crosses the CER73 to a 1000 volt 1-amp diode,
and the CER70 to a 600 volt 1 amp diode. (NTE 125 and
NTE 116 respectively.) If it were my TX, I'd go with 1N4007
diodes, or even something with a bit more current rating.

If you want originals, I could dig in my parts bins, but that
might take a while :)

Thanks Pete,

I am thinking the 4007 parts would be good myself. I was gonna stick
one in each half wave, but after hearing the CER73 part is 1kv, I'll go
with two in series. I got some MUR1100 parts here but I've had
problems with fast diodes snapping themselves into oblivion.

TX is back on the shelf till I get some more parts.
