Replacement Motor for MFJ-1788 Loop Antenna

A chum of mine has the subject antenna with a bad motor.
Does anyone know of a replacement. I'm waiting till monday
to try MFJ, but perhaps a better motor is available elsewhere.

MFJ have been kind enough to OBLITERATE the name and part
number of the manufacturer on the motor!!!!

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

How bad is it? As I recall, these are cheap permanent magnet motors. If
it cannot be turned by hand, try greasing both bearings with a light turbine
oil and trying to free up the shaft.

The next thing that goes wrong with them is the brushes wear out. You can
usually arrange transplants from other DC motors.

If the armature or field coil is bad, it's trash.
