John Boyle Joins WRKN/WZRH New Orleans As PD

Cumulus has named John Boyle as the new Program Director of Country 92.3
Nash-FM WRKN and Alternative 106.1 The Underground WZRH New Orleans. Boyle
comes to New Orleans from sister 95 Rock 95.9 WSJZ Melbourne FL, where he
served as the stations first PD following its flip from Sports. He takes
the position previously held by Ray Mariner, whose status within the
company is currently unknown. Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed
John Boyle to Operations Manager/Program Director for NASH FM 92.3/WRKN-FM
and 106.1 the Underground/WZRH-FM in New Orleans. Boyle segues from his
previous role as the first Program Director of Cumulus’ Melbourne, FL,
station 95 ROCK/WSJZ. Prior to that, he was Promotion Director and Director
and Producer of Artist Performance Videos for Entercom Sacramento’s
six-station cluster. Boyle has also held Program Director positions in San
Luis Obispo, CA (KZOZ), Bakersfield, CA (KKXX), and Lansing, MI (WWDX). Pat
Galloway, Vice President/Market Manager of Cumulus Media New Orleans said:
“We at Cumulus New Orleans are very excited to have John Boyle join us as
Program Director of 106.1 the Underground, and NASH FM 92.3. John’s
experience andÂ*leadershipÂ*qualities will take these stations to new levels
of performance. We are very happy to keep John in the Cumulus family.�

WFAS Shifts To CBS Sports

Just north of New York City, Cumulus Talk 1230 WFAS White Plains NY is now
carrying the CBS Sports Radio network around the clock. Out with the change
to SportsRadio 1230 are local morning host Bob Marrone and the syndicated
talk shows that relied on WFAS for a New York market clearance including
Jonathan Brandmeier and Clark Howard. Much of WFAS afternoon and evening
lineup duplicated that of sister 770 WABC New York including Michael
Savage, John Batchelor and Red Eye Radio. WFAS gives the CBS Sports Radio
network on-air carriage in the NYC market for clearance purposes on top of
its HD simulcast on CBS 101.1 WCBS-HD3.

Arm Rage LLC Urban AC 1040 WJBE Powell/99.7 W259AV Knoxville TN has
flipped from Urban AC to Urban. Now branded as Jammin 99.7, WJBE is
swapping out the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show for Steve Harvey. The
flip places WJBE in direct competition with Scripps Rhythmic CHR Hot 104.5
WKHT.
