Silver coating for PCB - how ??

[ RRB Moderator's Note: I'm not sure how on-topic this is for rec.radio.
broadcasting, but I'm letting the post go through to RRB anyhow. Any

What is the best way to put silver coat on home made PCB-s or small Copper
pipes inside and outside ??

Thanks for help.

Are you sure you want a silver plating? Tin is the common plating,
and it does have a silver color. Silver will oxidize quicker, and will
dissolve into the solder, and can cause electromigration problems, and
weak joints.

You can buy a chemical compound from www.partsexpress.com that you just
mix up and put your board into for tin plating. You don`t want silver
plating as the other fellow told you as it would tarnish. Rob

Dear Larry, At Radio Netherlands we used a product called "Kool Amp", it is a paste that you rub onto your metallic (in this case copper) surface with a cotton cloth. The paste contains silver and plates onto your metal. If want to prevent the oxidation mix a small amount of organic solder flux (rosin, etc) into denatured alcohol and dip the PC board after assembly, let it dry (this is sometimes called "solder-brite") here is a picture of the process: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...ed=0CCYQ9QEwAg here is their web site: http://www.cool-amp.com/ Best regards, Jack-K8MA.

Watts minus the amplifiers efficiency which is around 60%. 14.4 x 30= 432 x .6 = 259 watts continuous without blowing the fuses. to be fair i will say a fuse will handle 50% above its rating for 3 seconds without blowing but you are still only looking at 388 watts.
