ON XM SATILLITE RADIO'S SONIC THEATER CHANNEL 163

September 21, 2004, Napanoch, NY – Spend this Election Day… LAUGHING
when satirist and radio talk show host AL FRANKEN and veteran public
radio host BOB EDWARDS portray themselves on "THE COMEDY-O-RAMA
ELECTION SPECIAL". The two-hour special begins with HOMELAND SECURITY
COMES TO CAMP WATERLOGG", which producer JOE BEVILACQUA calls "hybrid
radio" (equals parts radio theater, satirical sketch comedy,
improvisation and interview), and concludes with a set of DAWS BUTLER
stories. The special airs multiple times beginning November 2, on XM
SATILLITE RADIO'S SONIC THEATER CHANNEL 163.

"We're trying to have a little fun, something for which today's radio
is not exactly known," explains Bevilacqua, who was a protégé of Daws
Butler (the voice of Yogi Bear), provides many of the voices on the
series, and has been writing, producing and performing radio comedy
since 1979. He likens his work to the modern equivalent of Fred Allen,
Jack Benny and Fibber McGee and Molly. "In 1930s and ‘40s, these show
weren't just funny. They created entire imaginary worlds that tickled
the imagination," notes Bevilacqua.

Radio listeners will spend the first hour with Ranger Joe and Ranger
Lorie at their dilapidated Catskills kids camp, "Camp Waterlogg,"
located in the bucolic woods of Napanoch, New York. While Ranger Joe
is off talking with Al Franken, Ranger Lorie must contend with a wacky
cabal of nutcases (mostly played by Bevilacqua), the day before the
Presidential Election. Meanwhile, Bob Edwards reports on the events
occurring at the fictional camp. (This is the second "Camp Waterlogg"
story; the first was a Fourth of July special. More are planned.) On
Election Day only, a second hour will the best of "What the Butler
Wrote: Scenes from the Daws Butler Workshop".

For Al Franken, (whose AIR AMERICA radio show airs from noon to 3 pm
Eastern time, on XM Satellite Radio's America Left Channel 167)
appearing on the show was a no-brainer. After all, "the only thing
more liberal with comedy than me is ‘THE COMEDY-O-RAMA HOUR',"
explains the Saturday Night Live alumnus.

Bob Edwards says he is thrilled to be on Election Day special and
reminds listeners that it is their "patriotic duty to laugh!" When
introducing his own new talk show (which premieres October 4, on the
XM Public Radio Channel 133), Edwards beamed, "XM is the most exciting
thing happening in radio. I think XM is reviving and reinventing
radio. It's something entirely new, and at the same time it brings
radio back to its past glory."

In addition to Franken and Edwards, the special will feature some of
the best new political humor in the country, from The New Liquid
Comedy improv group (featuring Joe Bevilacqua, Lorie Kellogg, Cousin
Kenny Savoy, Jim Folly, and Tom Giannazzo), musical satirists
JibJab.com, writer-actor Sharon Greene of The Neo-Futurists theater
troupe, radio theater producer Jeff Ward, actor-impressionist Matt
Hurwitz, singer-songwriter Hugh Blumenfeld, and others. Plus, there'll
be a look at political satire of the past with a rare 1956 Stan
Freberg-Daws Butler sketch that eerily predicts television's future
impact on political conventions.

The Comedy-O-Rama Hour is a weekly audio magazine of humor and stories
about humor, written, produced and hosted by veteran radio producer
Joe Bevilacqua. The show includes original sketch comedy, radio
theater, satire, parodies, monologues, storytelling, standup comedy,
songs, mini-documentaries and interviews, and airs five times a week
on XM Satellite Radio's Sonic Theater Channel 163, as well as public
radio stations around the country. The special will also be made
available streamed on the web at:
www.comedyorama.com.

"The Comedy-O-Rama Hour is one of the most unique and original
productions out there these days. With Joe's talent for different
voices, I never know what's coming next, or what it will sound like.
Another thing that makes these shows stand out is that it is quite
obvious to the listener that Joe and his cast are having fun making
these shows, and that makes them fun to listen to as well." - Steve
Karesh, Program Director, XM Satellite Radio Sonic Theater Channel,
163.

JOE BEVILACQUA BIO

Joe Bevilacqua first wrote Daws Butler (the voice of Yogi Bear) when
he was 16 years old in 1975. Soon after, Daws appointed himself Joe's
personal mentor and thus began a whirlwind 13-year apprenticeship.
Bevilacqua has gone on to become is a veteran award-winning voice
actor, radio producer, dramatist, humorist and documentarian.

His credits include such documentaries as From Moonshine to
Armadillos: the Birth of the Austin Music Scene (2003), One Song at a
Time: Tales from the Kerrville Folk Festival (2000) and We Take You
Now to Grover's Mill: The 50th Anniversary of the War of the Worlds
Broadcast (1988). His documentary Lady Bird Johnson: Legacy of a First
Lady (2001) was heard in nearly 200 public radio stations and was a
finalist for best documentary at the 2001 New York Festivals
competition.

He is a frequent contributor to National Public Radio, and, in 2004,
was awarded a Silver Reel Award from the National Federation of
Community Broadcasters for his personal essay A Guy Named Joe
Bevilacqua.

Bevilacqua has written and produced hundreds of radio plays, including
the popular comedy series, The Misadventures of Sherlock Holmes (which
he co-wrote with Daws Butler) and his pet project--The Whithering of
Willoughby and the Professor, 18 surrealistic half-hours in which he
performs all the characters himself.

He currently hosts, writes, and produces a weekly program, The
Comedy-O-Rama Hour, for XM Satellite Radio's Sonic Theater Channel
(163), which includes a regular segment called "Scenes from the Daws
Butler Workshop."

Along with Ben Ohmart, he co-edited a book of Daws Butler scripts
entitled Scenes for Actors and Voices in 2003 and in 2004 co-wrote the
authorized biography: Daws Butler: Characters Actor.

Bevilacqua and his wife, Lorie Kellogg, recently renovating their
cabin in the woods of Napanoch, NY, to look like a Jellystone Park
Ranger's Station, where they live with their three dogs, George,
Gracie and Zasu, and their two cats, Ignatz Mouse and Krazy Kat. Their
unusual home is the inspiration for Bevilacqua's latest radio comedy
creation: "Camp Waterlogg," about a dilapidated Catskills kid's camp
populated by a cabal of crazy characters. The new series, which airs
on XM Satellite Radio's Sonic Theater Channel 163, marks the on-air
reunion of members of the "Liquid Comedy" Improv troupe: Bevilacqua,
Kenny Savoy, Jim Folly, and Tom Giannazzo, who have not worked
together since 1979.
