On Monday October 18, VRT Radio told staff at RVi, its international

service
that all shortwave transmissions of programmes in English, French and

German
would be discontinued. The only shortwave activity that will survive is

the
transmission of 4 hours per day of programmes in Dutch, most of it relays

of
domestic VRT stations, and only beamed to south Europe.

According to the management, last transmissions of programmes in English,
French and German would be on last day of winter schedule: March 26 2005
More information this Sunday in "Radio World", my feature in "Flanders
Today".

That's sad to hear.... I enjoy listening to their transmission via Bonaire
around 0400 UTC (midnight local) before going to sleep. Strong, clear signal
with quality programming.

Perhaps it's available via the web, but I won't listen that way since I
don't have a computer in my bedroom.

Oh well, so long RVI.... and thanks for the QSL last week
