Hope I'm in the correct newsgroup. If you don't mind,I'd like some
advice on buying a satellite radio for my home. I know nothing about
them, except for some reading on Inet.I don't know how to set one up
etc... I would like a stand alone radio that would fit on a nightstand
(30X30" approx). I'm reading all about adapters etc and I don't
understand any of it :( .. Is there anything like this available now ?
If so.. what else to I need to go with it ? adapters ? antenna ? little
dish ?
Like I said ..I'm totally ignorant on this subject !
Surely do thank you

It would have helped if you had given us some clue about which country
you are in, and what radio programmes you want to receive.

I'd say the Houston @ Road Runner is somewhat of a give away ;)

I'd suggest they check out
www.xm.com and www.sirius.com, both offer in home
models, both are of course subscription services.

My guess is that the country is America and the state is Texas.

and what radio programmes you want to receive.

I have Sirius and I think it is great! It is one of the best
purchases I have ever made. The music channels, while not as deep as
XM's play music you are familliar with and don't have to wait a day to
hear a song you like. Sirius, in my opinion, has better talk than XM.
If Sports is your thing then Sirius is the way to go! Sirius has a
24/7 NFL channel, and also plays college football, basketball, NHL,
and British Premier Soccer League games.
I would definately visit both of their websites.
