rcs and rds
 

is anyone running rcs master control (v14) that is also running the rds
system? i'm interested in getting the data (song title and artist) to
the rds box via the serial port so it can be transmitted to the new
style radios. rcs says the only way they do it is via xml on a tcp port
and address, which is not an option since the rds box doesn't have an
ethernet port on it. anyone have a program that polls for the
broadcast.asc file and then transmits it to the rds box via the serial
port?

i can't believe that this tiny station a few miles from nowhere in
colorado is the only one trying to do this...

any ideas?

In the UK RCS supply a piece of software called "DabText" which can send out
the song title via the serial port.. Worth enquiring about it. RDS and
Radiotext has been used for many years over here so it might be the software
hasn't made it over the pond yet.
