The future of shortwave?

Thanks for the many comments which have been posted, they are really
interesting and helpful for my research, if you have not posted your

view
yet on the
the future of shortwave as a broadcast medium I would be very

interested to
read them.

In the US of A shortwave broadcasters are people with a mission of
some sort or owners who sell block time to such people. I don't see
that changing very much.

Even some people with a mission have dropped out. An example is the
Christian Scientists.

As for the cost of fixed stations.. I think WBCQ is on the cutting
edge, building a wind farm to power it's transmitters..

HCJB in Quito Ecuador built dams and hydroelectric generation facilities
to power there mega watt transmitter site.
